While distributing Srila Prabhuapda´s books in Gibraltar, Makhancora Prabhu met a lady who works for the local Magazine with coverage in England. Feeling inspired to know more about the Hare Krsna movement and feature the devotees of B.L.I.S.S. Fuengirola in the upcoming issue, the journalists came to make an interview to the temple. Here is a bit of it!!!

Devotees From The B.L.I.S.S. Performing Sankirtan-Yajna (Chanting of The Holy Names of Krsna) In The City Of Malaga, Spain
Our Lordships Sri Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subhadra devi received Their new clothes on the Sri Gaura Purnima day. New dresses came from the skillful hands of Mrs. Hamarcakova, who is the mother of Makhancora dasa. She dedicated many hours from her time to very precisely and diligently put the clothes together and on top of that she also donated for the cloth and other materials. May other devotees, friends and people in general become inspired in their hearts to render more and more such beautiful service. The following are words of appreciation from the B.L.I.S.S. members:
The day before Gaura-purnima festival we went to chant in the streets of Malaga. This is what happened there! Haribol! :)

Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu instructed His disciples to write books on the science of Krsna, a task which those who follow Him have continued to carry out down to the present day. Due to the unbreakable system of disciplic succession, the elaborations and expositions on the philosophy taught by Lord Caitanya are in fact the most voluminous, exacting and consistent of any religious culture in the world. Although Lord Caitanya was widely renowned as a scholar in His youth, He left only eight verses, called Siksastaka. These eight verses clearly reveal His mission and precepts. These supremely valuable prayers are translated herein.
Glory to the Sri Krsna sankirtana, which cleanses the heart of all the dust accumulated for years together and thus extinguishes the fire of conditioned life, of repeated birth and death. This sankirtana movement is the prime benediction for humanity at large because it spreads the rays of the benediction moon. It is the life of all transcendental knowledge, it increases the ocean of transcendental bliss, and it enables us to taste the full nectar for which we are always anxious.
O My Lord, Your holy name alone can render all benedictions to living beings, and thus You have hundreds and millions of names, like Krsna and Govinda. In these transcendental names You have invested all Your transcendental energies, and there are no hard and fast rules for chanting these holy names. O My Lord, You have so kindly made it easy to approach You by Your holy names, but I am so unfortunate that I have no attraction for them.
One should chant the holy name of the Lord in a humble state of mind, thinking oneself lower than the straw in the street; one should be more tolerant than a tree, devoid of all sense of false prestige, and ready to offer all respect to others. In such a state of mind one can chant the holy name of the Lord constantly.
O almighty Lord, I have no desire to accumulate wealth, nor do I desire beautiful women, nor do I want any number of followers. I only want Your causeless devotional service, birth after birth.
O son of Maharaja Nanda, I am Your eternal servitor, yet somehow or other I have fallen into the ocean of birth and death. Please pick Me up from this ocean of death and place Me as one of the atoms at Your lotus feet.
O My Lord, when will My eyes be decorated with tears of love flowing constantly when I chant Your holy name? When will My voice choke up, and when will the hairs on My body stand on end at the recitation of Your name?
O Govinda! Feeling Your separation, I am considering a moment to be like twelve years or more. Tears are flowing from My eyes like torrents of rain, and I am feeling all vacant in the world in Your absence.
I know no one but Krsna as My Lord, and He shall always remain so, even if He handles Me roughly by His embrace or makes Me brokenhearted by not being present before Me. He is completely free to do anything and everything, yet He is always My worshipful Lord, unconditionally.

Spiritual Answers to Environmental Challenges
by Makhancora dasa
The spirit soul in the material world in due course of its evolution enters the human form of body, endowed with developed and fairly uncovered consciousness. Our existence in this material realm is characterized by perpetual struggle for existence through exploitation of natural resources. All the bodies work under the laws of material nature and each body is like a filter, a coloured glass, through which the light of the soul - the consciousness - shines. According to the filter, the light, originally pure and intense, appears to be of different hues and intensity. Thus each plant, mushroom or animal exhibits a particular behaviour befitting the particular specie. They don't go beyond their "program". They are not extravagant. They follow their own nature.
It's an interesting sight. Everything works perfectly in natural sequence, the whole ecosystem is like one body where everyone has his place, function and purpose. Nothing is missing and nothing is extra.
Yet we see a disruption of this divine arrangement. Especially at present times, the modern man creates a situation, where in his own struggle for existence, in his attempt to exploit natural resources for the pleasure of his senses he violates natural sequences. He extends the inputs of enjoyable stimulus even beyond the capacity of his senses to actually absorb them and the ultimate result of this unwise and blind policy is his own frustration and confusion accompanied by gradual destruction of the world not just for himself, but for everyone else as well. The material body and this world is given to the living entity as a tool for enjoyment of the senses under a false idea of material identity, but after millions of births and deaths in millions of species, after one realizes the futility of his attempts to become the supreme master and enjoyer of the world, the same material body and the same world are to be utilised as an instrument for his liberation. Human form of life can facilitate this process of liberation through proper action in the world executed on account of purified consciousness, but without the right vision and spiritual education we can't ever be truly satisfied and cease to drain our environment for flickering pleasures of our gross and subtle bodies.
Always Depend Fully On Krsna
I have read your statements regarding opening centers. I am not in agreement with Mr. Altman that we are expanding very thinly. In my opinion, a single sincere soul can maintain a center. You know I started the center at 26 2nd Ave. alone. I took the risk of 200.00 dollars per month for the rent. At that time there were no assistants. Mukunda was at that time a friend but there was no responsibility for him for maintaining the center. Gradually Kirtanananda and Hayagriva joined but they did not take any responsibility. Still I was maintaining the establishment simply depending on Krishna and then Krishna sent me everything -- men and money. Similarly, if a sincere soul goes out and opens a center in any part of the world Krishna will help him in all respects. Without being empowered by Krishna, nobody can preach Krishna Consciousness. It is not academic qualification or financial strength which helps in these matters, but it is sincerity of purpose which helps us always. Therefore, I wish that you will remain in charge of New York, let Satsvarupa be in charge of Boston, Let Mukunda be in charge of San Francisco, let Janardana be in charge of Montreal. Let Nandarani and Dayananda be in charge of Los Angeles. And let Subala das be in charge of Santa Fe. In this way you will follow my example as I did in the beginning at 26 2nd Ave. That is preaching, cooking, writing, talking, chanting everything one man's show. I never thought about the audience. I was prepared to chant if there were no man to hear me. The principle of chanting is to glorify the Lord and not to attract a crowd. If Krishna hears nicely then he will ask some sincere devotee to gather in such place. Therefore, be advised that thousands of centers may be started if we find out a sincere soul for each and every center. We do not require more men to start. If there is one sincere soul that is sufficient to start a new center.
(Letter to: Brahmananda -- Calcutta 11 November, 1967)
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in the early days chalked out the path for his movement in the West. Here are the goals he set up:
(A) To educate the greater human society in the techniques of spiritual life as the basis for a balanced psychic and biological development, and thereby achieve for the first time in human society a real peace and unity among the contending forces in the world today.
(B) To propagate the Sense of Godhead, the all attractive Personality of primal and eternal Form, as He Himself revealed in His own words in the Bhagavad Gītā, the Holy Scripture of the Lord Sri Krishna, the Godhead.
(C) To bring together individals in a Society, regardless of nationality and irrespective of creed or caste, in order to develop a nearness to the Godhead and thereby the idea that within the members and humanity-at-large there is an infinitesimal soul-spirit that is part and parcel in quality with the Godhead, and that all life is meant for the satisfaction of said Godhead, the Supreme Soul.
(D) To encourage the teachings of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who demonstrated practically the transcendental process of approaching the absolute Personality of Godhead by His acts of congregational chanting of the holy name of God, a process known as Samkirtan.
(E) To prove by active work and preaching that Lord Sri Krishna is the only enjoyer of all the outcomes of individual and collective sacrifice, penance, meditation, arts, culture, science, because He is the Supreme Proprietor of the whole universe, eternally apart of Him everyone knows Him as a friend. Real peace can be attained when this is realized, in fact.
(F) To assist whenever and wherever possible in the building of a social structure on the real foundation of spiritual progress and establishment of peace and unity between men throughout the world.
(G) To attempt to save men individually from the chain of victimization the ongoing trend in modern civilization operates by, in the name of ideologies of false sentiment, so that Man may again be a free soul, to act and live freely with spiritual vision. This is possible by individual spiritual initiation, Diksha, when a man can see everything in Godhead and Godhead in everything.
(H) To further toward realization this highest truth as revealed by Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and the six Goswamins headed by Śrīla Rupa and Sanatana Goswamins.
(I) To have for its objectives amongst the others four principles which the Goswamins had in view. They are the following:
1. To erect a holy place of transcendental pastimes as well as a place where members of the Lord Sri Krishna can flourish.
2. To propagate all over the world in the form of missionaries the process of devotion, the transcendental service to the Godhead, and to make known that this devotional service is the main function of the human being.
3. In order to accomplish this, to adopt proselytizing methods of peaceful means and to establish a broader society of association for all members, including scholars and admirers, to engage in this service as put forth in the Śrīmad Bhagwatam.
4. To install, wherever it is possible, the worship and temple of Radhakrishna and that of Sri Chaitanya, and to give facility to everyone to become trained in the modes of Archan or preparatory principles of devotional service.
(J) To introduce to the members of the Society and humanity-at-large a simpler and more natural purpose in life by means suitable to the particular place and time, and as enjoined in the Bhagavad Gītā.
(K) To organize educational programs, such as classes and lecture tours, and to institute services, such as mailing, for the benefit of the members of the Society and humanity-at-large.
(L) To publish periodicals, books and/or pamphlets in all important languages in order to reach human society and give an opportunity to same to communicate with the Society.
(M) To invoke the quality of goodness particularly in every member of the Society, individually by the process of Diksha and by establishing one in the status of a Brahmin (good and intelligent man) on the basis of truthfulness, knowledge and faith in the transcendental service of the Lord.
(N) Among the secondary objectives of the Society, it shall undertake the following activities:
1. To revive the scientific system of social orders of classification based on intelligence, martial spirit, productivity and common assistance, generally known as the four castes with reference to quality and worth for the common cause of world society.
2. To discharge as a matter of course the vitiated system of supremacy of one man over another by false prestige of birthright or vested interests.
3. To popularize the vegetable-grain diet under approved methods in order that full value of protein, carbohydrate, fat and vitamin benefit may be derived therefrom.
4. To discourage intoxicating or addicting habits of all descriptions and dimensions and to expose such persons thus afflicted to approved methods of spiritual realization.

There are different kinds of 'Yajna' recommended in different ages. The one which is recommended in this age of Kali (iron age of quarrel and fight) is the performance of yajna called the 'Samkeertan Yajna' which is a process of chanting and hearing the transcendental Name etc. of Godhead.
Chanting Hare Krsna - the Topmost Yoga System in This Age
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada on the Maha-mantra:
This transcendental vibration of chanting of Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna , Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare is the sublime method of reviving our Krsna consciousness. As living spiritual souls we are all originally Krsna conscious entities, but due to our association with matter since time immemorial, our consciousness is now polluted by the material atmosphere.
In this polluted concept of life, we are trying to exploit the resources of material nature, but actually we are becoming more and more entangled in her complexities. This illusion is called maya -- our hard struggle for existence for winning over the stringent laws of material nature.

With Krsna one must be happy
by His Divine Grace
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
"If a person is actually executing devotional service, then he must be happy. If he's not happy, then he's not doing properly. So first thing is this. He might be doing something in the name of devotional service. If he's actually rendering devotional service, then he must be feeling. Just like if you are eating actually, then you must feel strength and satisfaction of your hunger. You cannot say, "I'm eating, but I'm not satisfied of my hunger." That is impossible. This is not possible. Then you are not eating. Or you are eating, but it is being devoured by the worms within your intestines. Sometimes it happens. If there are many worms within the intestines, you go on voraciously eating, but you don't get strength because the eating substance, the essence, is taken by the worms. Therefore the worm treatment is there to kill the worms. Otherwise they will eat everything. You'll feel hungry, but will not get any strength. This is the worm disease. So if I am actually rendering devotional service and I'm not getting any happiness, that means there is some maya's play. Otherwise there is no such reasoning. He must feel happy. Then he has to rectify the process of his service. Not to change but rectify the process. (aside) What is that? (laughs) It cannot be. If you are actually executing devotional service, you must feel happy. If you don't feel happy, then you are not executing. There is some flaw. Yes."
(Bhagavad-gita 2.13-17 -- Los Angeles, November 29, 1968)
The following is a debate over our endeavor to preserve Srila Prabhupada´s teachings by re-editing his books "back to the original way". Our opposition came from the devotees, who profess the idea that the first printings of Srila Prabhupada´s books are the originals approved and blessed by him and that the first editions printed during his physical presence should not be touched despite the obvious and proven fact that many meanings were lost, omitted or changed. Our standpoint is that the order of Srila Prabhupada that the next printing should be back to the original way stands above his blessings for the books printed in his physical presence. In this debate we have shown evidence that the "original books" as many devotees conceive of them are not what they may seem to be. To read, download the pdf. Hare Krsna!
the B.L.I.S.S. Book Editing Project Opposition Defeated
by Purujit dāsa
Lord Kṛṣṇa informs us about the deviation from the disciplic succession (paramparā) in the pages of the Bhagavad-gītā:
imaṁ vivasvate yogaṁ
proktavān aham avyayam
vivasvān manave prāha
manur ikṣvākave 'bravīt
imaṁ rājarṣayo viduḥ
sa kāleneha mahatā
yogo naṣṭaḥ parantapa
The Personality of Godhead, Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, said: I instructed this imperishable science of one’s relationship with the Supreme to the sun-god, Vivasvān. Vivasvān instructed it to his son Manu, the father of mankind, and Manu in turn instructed the same science to his son Ikṣvāku.This science was thus received through the chain of disciplic succession, and the saintly kings understood it in that way.
But in course of time the succession was broken, and therefore the science as it is, O subduer of the enemies, appears to be lost.
